When I Fall 05:18

about

You can get loud and you can get quiet and as long as it's real nobody's going to mind. That's the thing about this music that sits at the crossroads of country and rock, everybody loves the old stuff but nobody stands on formality, nobody knows what the right way is to do it, and nobody's going to get academic about it. The joint will rock or the joint will sway. And you can roll in the amplifiers all stacked up and line up the guest singers and bring in the strings or you can just sit down on a porch or in a living room with a couple of banged up guitars. Tell the tale that way if you want to. As long as it's a real story people can hear it. And even though it's live, and even though it's true (and I swear it's true, every single word is true), it's still almost a lie.
